- What is Psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a reaction of the immune system that accelerates the skin cell cycle. It causes skin cells to reproduce rapidly in the upper layer of the dermis. The excess skin cells create itchy, reddish scales and patches and some produce pustules that are very painful when they dry out. Psoriasis is a chronic disease that sometimes goes away and comes back.
Nowadays, there is still no cure for psoriasis, but its symptoms can be controlled.
And in Nopsor we found the formula that helps to control it.
Depending on the study, it is presumed that the percentage of people affected by Psoriasis ranges between 2% and 3% worldwide. (IFDA) (AAD)
The life expectancy of people with Psoriasis and people without Psoriasis is similar. The prevalence of psoriasis increases with age. (Bonifai et al. 1998)
- Is psoriasis contagious?
No. Psoriasis is not contagious but it is hereditary.
- How do I know if I have Psoriasis?
Psoriasis can only be diagnosed by a doctor, preferably a dermatologist. However, most of the time, psoriasis lesions are so characteristic that simple observation can determine whether psoriasis is present.
- How to use Nopsor ointment during the day?
It is not recommended to use it during the day because if you are in the sun, your skin may become blotchy. Also, skin cells regenerate during the night when resting, so it is best to use it only at night.
- Why do you recommend bathing at night with Nopsor soap?
Nopsor Soap is used as a skin preparation before applying Nopsor ointment, this while the lesions are being treated.
However, when in the maintenance stage, Nopsor soap, in any of its presentations, can be used at any time, in the daily bath.
- What soap can I use for bathing in the morning during treatment?
A neutral or oatmeal soap or shampoo can be used.
- How much Nopsor ointment should be applied to the lesions?
A very thin layer is recommended, and only where there are lesions. The ointment can be easily spread on the skin as it is petroleum jelly based.
- Why does Nopsor ointment stain clothes?
Nopsor ointment contains coal tar and this stains clothing. It is recommended to have pyjamas and sheets for this purpose while treating lesions during the first stage of treatment.
- How long does it take to see relief from injuries?
It is recommended to use the Nopsor Ointment and Soap together for at least one month, normally after 3 weeks you should start to see positive changes in the lesions. It is expected that between 1 and 3 months the lesions can be controlled. But this varies for each person and therefore discipline in application and patience is recommended to see results.
In general, the older the lesions are, the longer it takes to bring them under control.
